This program goes far beyond weight loss and really focuses on teaching you the fundamentals of living a healthy and balanced life before chronic disease sets in. The goal is to help you make living healthfully a lifestyle so that health is the side effect. The program combines the best of conventional and functional medicine to help you get to the root cause of your concerns in a fun, supportive community
This program is not specific to weightloss. The program is designed to optimize your health by balancing your hormones by addressing a number of lifestyle factors that influence health. The side effect for many is significant weight loss, however the reset is easily adaptable for women who wish to maintain or gain weight while still reaping all of the other health benefits of the program.
The amount of weight loss will vary from person to person. Those with more weight and inflammation will lose it faster. The first 10 is the easiest, the last 10 is the hardest. Everything in between will depend on compliance and efforts that you put forth. This program is designed to gently and safely lower your weight. The average person loses between 15-45 pounds in 6 weeks!
During the program, you will be eating a nutrient-dense, hypoallergenic, and anti-inflammatory diet. You will have an unlimited intake of certain foods (veggies and greens) with a balanced intake of lean protein, starches, and fruit. You will have over 100 recipes to choose from and lots of new foods to nourish your body!
If you are on medication, I will evaluate your case to be sure that there are no contraindications. Those on blood pressure and diabetes medications will need to carefully monitor their levels since many patients experience complete normalization of their blood sugar and pressure levels. For those who are diabetic, I suggest purchasing a continuous blood glucose monitor to track their numbers.
This is a question that comes up often. The basis of our program is to reset your nervous system to a state of healing and repair. Most exercise programs are far too demanding and create more of an imbalance. During the first phase of the program, you will be able to engage in yoga, walking, mindful activities, and sauna use.
I designed this program to have permanent results. The results will correspond with your adherence to a healthy lifestyle. Since “healthy” is multifaceted, it's important to follow the upgraded lifestyle for a lifetime. It's not about perfection, it's about the pursuit of your best self.
If you have more weight to lose, you may repeat the program as many times as you like. You will have lifetime access to the private Facebook group and online course. This will enable you to continue to learn and benefit from our growing library of knowledge and have access to special offers, events, and trainings!
When I created this group program, I wanted to ensure that I was fostering a safe and supportive environment for black women to heal. Although the principles and strategies used in this program can work for anyone, the private community formed is for black women.
This program is NOT for those that are extremely ill or have a debilitating chronic disease. This program is for those that deeply value their health, are highly coachable, like accountability, are responsive to positive feedback, and are honest with themselves and others. The goal of this program is not perfection, instead the goal is for personal growth!
All private patients of mine must first complete this program. My functional medicine practice emphasizes lifestyle and behavior change, and this program sets the foundation for any personalized labs, supplements or protocols I curate for my patients.
